About

Me
I'm Grace, and my ambition is to become a professional musician. I'm currently studying for my A Levels.
Instruments
I play trumpet, cornet, piano and violin (with trumpet being my first instrument).
Starting out on Piano
I started playing the piano when I was 7 years old, at primary school. After falling in love with it, I took private lessons, and gradually completed graded exams, at which I currently have passed Grade 7, and have just started working on my Grade 8, which I am aiming to complete in Summer 2019.
Work
Since September 2017, I have worked part time as an accompanist for two dance classes, run by the Co-op Juniors Theatre Comapny.

I also teach pupils the piano, from my home.
Cornet and Trumpet
At 9 years old, I started playing the cornet with Martlesham Brass, a local brass band with 4 training groups whom I progressed with (from the 'Beginner's' all the way to the 'Main Band'). After a year of learning, I decided to get private lessons on cornet, with which I took Grade's 1,3 and 6, before moving to trumpet to complete Grade's 7 and 8. My current teacher is a Royal Northern College of Music Graduate, Adrian Robinson. I am now able to take on students to teach cornet/trumpet.
My Big Achievements on Trumpet
In the Autumn Term of 2018, I succesfully passed Grade 8, with a Distinction! I am also proud to be a trumpeter with the Suffolk Youth Orchestra. It is a brilliant to be able to play on stages such as the world renowned Snape Maltings Concert Hall, and the Apex in Bury St Edmunds. Also, I have been on a concert tour abroad each year, to places like Spain and Poland!
Solos
I still regularly play cornet, with Martlesham Brass and the East of England Co Op Band. I am a confident soloist and have played many solos with Martlesham.
Violin
I also started playing violin at primary school, and have since carried on into High School and now Sixth Form. I have taken Graded exams up to Grade 6, and currently working on Grade 7.
School
At school, I play with various bands and orchestras, including Jazz Band, String Group, Big Brass, Choir, Sax Quartet and the Show Band. I have completed solos and also have conducted groups.
Outside of Music
When I'm not playing music, I enjoy seeing musicals both at my local theatre and in the West End, with my favourite being Wicked! I am always amazed by the musicians in the pits, who play live every night, with clarity and precision! I'm certain that would be something I would love to do when I'm older! I also enjoy baking and going on holiday!
